C-STEM Receives Large Tech Donation

C-STEM recently received an incredible donation of 70 laptops valuing nearly $20,000 total from Pi-top, who has discontinued the models to make way for new technology. This creative learning company believes that learning by making is essential to developing the skills all people need to be future-ready. ‎The Austin-based company created the Raspberry Pi-based modular laptop that gives users the tools to complete amazing DIY projects and bring inventions to life. Pi-top’s goal is to empower learners to work together, at their own pace, designing and refining their inventions by asking questions and ultimately learning by making. Their vision is that learning design, coding and making by combining physical computing and project-based learning equals turning screen time into creativity time. For the last five years since their founding in 2014, every pi-top employee has been united in our commitment to positively improve the way we teach, learn and live. The mission of pi-top and C-STEM align perfectly. We are so grateful for this donation and will determine a plan for putting the laptops to great use.
